Natalie Teagan's Room as of June 25th, 2010

A tour of the baby room thus far. I can't really hang up things like curtains, or new pink shelving. We are moving so shortly after there is no point. I am missing lots of stuff, like a crib, lamps, the bookshelf and toy bins I picked out, and decor like that. We will get it after we move to New Hampshire. Her theme is going to be pink and teddy bears though. Just a matter of getting it.

So everything is just kind of I want it to look cute, but really, we only need essentials right now.....

Welcome to Natalie's room

Her closet side one. Diapers and wipes CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH!

Her closet other side. Clothes and the such

Dresser, a lamp for now, and a sign in case she forgets she's a girl
Random lamp for now, which I added beads to make match HAHA

The pack and play will be in our room when she comes, then placed here after the first 2 weeks

Changing table, and sleeper... where she will... sleep. Extra diapers in a box in between

More diapers, and diaper genie

My grandma handmade this for her!!

Hand painted it too!! So cute!

Hospital bag is packed. My grandma also made the Teddy wall hanging

Bear wall hanging

Our glider! Also have it set up with diapers and wipes for quick changing after breast feeding

Hyde wants to go with us to the hospital!

The animals love hanging out in here

*EDIT*
I was actually in labor when I posted this. Talk about the nesting bug huh?

Happy Birthday Wishes!!!

Happy Birthday to my Grandma Dimple!!!

Maybe today Natalie will decide to share a birthday with you??

Hmmmmm

Just went on a nice 2 mile walk to try to get her convinced to come out. Unfortunately... I think it just walked her to sleep. When I walk, I walk up and down the curb. I probably look very awkward to the public with my giant 9 month belly waddling with one foot on the curb and one foot off. It's rumored to help induce, but really I think this is just a practical joke someone is playing on pregnant women everywhere. As if, at this state, we need any more humiliation brought upon us! I have been eating the "inducing" foods, doing random squats, and drinking red raspberry tea like it's going out of style. That is also rumored to help start the process. Process.... not feeling like it's being started. Stubborn lil gal. Still have no clue where she gets this stubbornness from!!

This is the last weekend prior to the D-Date!!!!!
[Monday June 28th, 2010]

Luckily David is already off work, and we are about to begin our weekend full of last minute preparations! Like for one, setting up the glider!

I really really wanted a glider [a fancy rocking chair basically], but unfortunately, those suckers are pricey. Our friend Tina offered us hers for free, since her baby is 18 months now, and when she has another, she would just rather buy new. She said the seat gets uncomfy though, so she offered to make me a butt pillow to place on it. We went to the fabric store and picked out this fabric

Sailor Teddy Bears in pink!

Isn't it perfect?!?!?! Natalie's room is pink and teddy bears, and also combining them in sailor suits like Daddy, was just to good to pass up. I bought 5 yards of the material. She only needed 1 yard to make the pillow, but I wanted extra. When we move, my friend might use the extra to make us curtains, or to make pajamas or a receiving blanket. I wish I knew how to sew so I could be crafty myself. I keep hinting to David to get me a sewing machine so I can learn. But he has no faith in me sticking to it :(

I will have to try to post some updated pictures of her room. Of course, with a move right around the corner, we really can't do much. We won't be buying the crib, or curtains, or the dollhouse bookshelf I want, or toy bins, or even a lamp and proper bedding set, until we move to New Hampshire. So it's kinds of odds and ends we placed in there to get us through the first six weeks of her life. Hopefully I get a chance or soon, the updated room picture will include a little pink bow headed baby in them!

Another pre-baby order of business... Teddy is going to the groomers today, so he can be nice, fresh, and clean to meet Natalie. I am sure this won't be to his approval though. 1. He hates the groomer and 2. He is having to be tortured in order to meet the replacement of his attention.

His old groomer just sold shop, and Teddy has groomer issues. More like... don't touch me or I'll bite, issues. It takes him a while to warm up to a new groomer. He was with this one for 8 months, and still not quite there. I really feel for the new person today. While he is getting tortured, we will be stocking up on the non perishable items to limit as much grocery shopping as we can for when she arrives. We also installed her car seat yesterday. I have the urge to stick a teddy bear in it and strap it down. I'd stick Teddy in it, but I already got in trouble by David for testing out her stuff using Teddy. At least I haven't held him down and stuck a diaper on him!

Well this was just a quick post, as it may or may not be my last before hospital time. Our bags are packed and ready... just waiting on her to decide when to meet the world!

Entering the final week!

Well we are now entering our final week of pregnancy!

Week 39 people!

Thursday is our pelvic exam where we will discover what my dilation and effacement is. Basically if I am progressing, or if this baby will be on a late schedule like her momma often is. Her being my mini... I bet she does come late! If that's the case, I secretly hope for a July 3rd or July 4th baby.

If she comes July 3rd, that would be her daddy's and my 7 year "date-aversary" 7 years from when we became a couple! 7 is a Godly number, and she is our miracle baby, so it would be so appropriate. :)

If she came July 4th, well she would be a holiday baby! Guess who else is a holiday baby? ME! She would really be my mini in all ways :)

But babies tend to have their own schedule in mind. Whatever day she decides to come, will be a blessed day for all! Except ppl on the road 16 years from that date.....

Final Week!
Sticking straight out!
I love my ball. Makes a great table top
Hi Natalie! You little round thing
EEKK ABOUT TO EXPLODE!
No stretch marks! YAY

Belly button timer says "Let's DO THIS"

Ladies and Gentlemen, as we wait for the amazing baby to emerge (slightly heavier and bigger than last week), we'd like to let you know that this amazing baby is going to be breathing its first breath, pooping its first poop, and crying its first cry. And mom, you'll be happy to have it on the outside.

Week 39:The waiting game...

Fetal development in pregnancy week 39: fetus in ninth monthWhether you give birth tomorrow or next week, it's pretty much all the same for your baby, who is now truly R-E-A-D-Y to face the big bright world outside of your womb. Speaking of wombs, your body is priming up for the big moment and hopefully, you're as prepared mentally as you can be. Your baby is well stocked up on fat, all their organs have put on the finishing touches. Here's hoping your child is already in the birthing position and basically just "hanging out" waiting for that elusive moment when all sysytems synchronize in your body to trigger the labor process.

And how's mom doing? We know you're antsy for the big moment, but let's step back a minute and talk about what it takes to get to the point where you’re finally holding your sweet little miracle in your arms. Are you mentally ready to embark on the oh-so-fun adventures of labor? Take a moment to review all your preparations If you're giving birth at the hospital, don't forget socks, they always over air-condition the placefor handling the pain (breathing techniques etc.). Don't forget you're going to have some physical signs prior to labor: 1) you'll lose the mucous plug sometime before labor sets in, 2) the good ol' water breaking (doesn't happen to all women), 3) and finally, before the contractions kick in, it's likely you'll see some brownish-red discharge in your underwear-- charmingly called "bloody show."

And how about all those little details? Have you got yourself a back-facing infant seat for the ride home? Is their adorable "first outfit" all packed up? Where's that list of family and friends you're going call with the happy news? Do NOT forget the camera!!! If you're giving birth at the hospital, don't forget socks, they always over air-condition the place. Also, if you're not having a home birth, bring your pillow, you know it's better and comfier than anything they're going to provide for you. Lastly, have you ironed out all the details of your birth plan with your caregiver? It's best to clarify all your preferences prior to serious labor, because once you're puffing like, well, a woman in labor, it's highly unlikely you're going to have the presence of mind to talk it out clearly.
